John V. Mejia is Of Counsel in the Litigation Department at Intellectual Property Law Group LLP. Mr. Mejia’s practice includes complex civil litigation, with a focus on complex business disputes, general business litigation, commercial litigation, and counseling. He has represented companies in intellectual property, copyright, trademark, unfair business practices, trade secret, and business tort cases of all kind, including fraud and breach of fiduciary duty.
Mr. Mejia’s experience involves complex personal injury matters, ranging from premises liability, product liability, and toxic tort matters. He has also represented a number of insurance companies in insurance defense matters. For over fifteen years, Mr. Mejia has practiced all aspects of litigation, alternative dispute resolution, and has prepared for and participated in numerous trials.
While a student at the University of San Francisco School of Law, he was a member of the law school’s civil law clinic where he participated in a wide range of civil litigation as a certified law student. Upon embarking on his legal career, Mr. Mejia worked for a number of firms representing clients in Personal Injury, Immigration, Family Law and Landlord-Tenant matters, and participated in insurance defense litigation, which included toxic tort and asbestos issues. He has also advised clients in contract, antitrust, and defamation matters.
As an attorney on either the plaintiff’s side or the defendant’s side, Mr. Mejia has effectively demonstrated counsel to his clients on the legal consequences and risks related to cases, and strives to develop the best solutions for their needs.
Mr. Mejia is fluent in Spanish.
