Ms. Mohankumar is a registered attorney specializing in Intellectual Property litigation, and prosecution.
Experience
Ms. Mohankumar received her J.D. from Santa Clara University School of law and has passed the California (CA) bar. During law school, Ms. Mohankumar participated in the Niagara International Moot Court competition and was the recipient of the Best Oral Advocate – third place award. She also served as an extern to Federal Court Judge James Ware of the Northern District of CA. As an extern, Ms. Mohankumar researched and drafted summary judgment motions, motions for judgment on the pleadings, motions to dismiss and Habeas Corpus petitions. Ms. Mohankumar also participated in Law in Motion sessions, case management conferences, and other proceedings presided over by the Judge. In the second year of law school, Ms. Mohankumar interned in the legal department of Affymetrix, Inc., in Sunnyvale CA. Ms. Mohankumar studied International comparative IP law with Dr. Donald Chisum in Munich, in the summer of 2004, while interning at the Law offices of Bohmann and Loosen. Prior to law school, Ms. Mohankumar worked as an immigration law paralegal at the Law Offices of Robert B. Jobe. She focused on asylum applicants from India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.
Ms. Mohankumar continues as a staff writer for IP Justice, a San Francisco based international intellectual property policy and information website. She has published articles on the Korean Free trade agreement, Section 301 of the USTR Trade Act, the WIPO development agenda, and the TRIPS agreement to WIPO.
