Mr. Viau's practice focuses on intellectual property law and civil litigation. He specializes in trademark prosecution and litigation to enforce intellectual property rights. In his trademark practice, Mr. Viau handles all aspects of the federal trademark registration process, including application filing, office action responses, and oppositions and cancellations. He also works closely with foreign associates regarding domestic clients' foreign trademark registrations and intellectual property rights, and foreign clients' U.S. trademark registrations and rights. In his litigation practice, Mr. Viau handles disputes involving intellectual property matters and business transactions. He has represented clients in federal patent and trademark lawsuits.

Prior to joining Intellectual Property Law Group, Mr. Viau attended UC Davis School of Law where he was heavily involved in the moot court program. He was a member of the Moot Court Board and participated on UC Davis's National Moot Court Team. During his law school summers, Mr. Viau interned with Intellectual Property Law Group's litigation department, and externed for Judge Saundra Brown Armstrong at the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California. He was also involved with UC Davis's Business Law Journal.

Before law school, Mr. Viau interned for the legal department of film production company Mandate Pictures, and served as file clerk for the corporate law and litigation firm Gilchrist & Rutter. He graduated from UCLA Phi Beta Kappa.
