Thomas Thibault has over 21 years of experience preparing and prosecuting patents and trademarks, both domestically and abroad. Originally from the New York City area, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from The University of the Pacific located in Stockton, California, in 1985. After nine years working as an electrical engineer, Mr. Thibault earned his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law in 1996. In that same year, he was admitted to practice both before the U.S Patent and Trademark Office and the California Bar.
Mr. Thibault joined Qualcomm Incorporated in 1996 where he spent the next nine years preparing and prosecuting patents applications in the field of wireless communications. He also has extensive trademark prosecution experience and provides counseling in a variety of business-related intellectual property matters, including opinion work, portfolio evaluation and management, and due diligence investigations. Mr. Thibault is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the San Diego Intellectual Property Law Association.
